American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

I called Thursday to pick up a cake for Tuesday. I was told to call Tuesday because they were not taking orders in the afternoon when I called. I called Tuesday morning to reserve a cake ( which I was willing to pay in advance no problem ) told it's a 1st come 1st serve establishment & couldn't make an order. I was looking up best chocolate cake in NYC. This place came up for their Brooklyn blackout cake. Now going through what I went through to get this cake I was like it's got to be great. I finally found parking for my car & go inside. No customers. That to me is a red flag! I arrived just before 4pm & nobody is there ordering? Maybe just the time I arrived ( I'm thinking ). I get the blackout cake & I'm out the door. It's my granddaughter's birthday, she wanted a chocolate on chocolate cake. Get to my destination the presentation is ok. The so called flowers didn't look like flowers to me or my family. The cake was super moist. For us Gen x or boomers remember Suzy Q cakes? From our child hood. Super moist cake with vanilla icing. The cake reminded me of that. Suzy Q cake with chocolate frosting. This chocolate frosting was just ok. Scale of 1 - 10, I give this cake a 5 at

My guests really enjoyed the cake! However, I was so disappointed in the yellow piping, which is essentially the centerpiece of the cake. The lettering does not look professional, and was not even centered on the cake. I am surprised the bakery still sold this to me (for $61!). They donβt send pics in advance, so there was no time to re-do it (not that they offered to anyway). Other pics on their social media and website look better, so it probably just depends on who ends up decorating your cake.

I ordered the black out cake last minute for my good friends birthday and wow. It was delicious, customer service was above and beyond. And to my surprise they did the fire Imoji I had asked to see if it was possible to do last minute. The cake was perfection. Thank You.

Ladybird made our wedding cake, and it was absolutely delicious!! Melanie is a culinary sorcerer! She worked closely with us and beautifully realized an absolutely stunning design that was majestic in person. It was everything we wanted and more. Our wedding guests were amazed at the beauty, freshness, and scrumptiousness of the cake. Can't recommend this remarkable bakery enough!
